What happens when you understand the tech shaping their childhood
The shift that made all of this click for me.
For a long time I thought staying on top of my kids and technology meant blocking things, checking up on them and saying no a lot. I was exhausted, because I always felt like I was a step behind the apps.
The shift
What really changed things for me was understanding how these apps and algorithms actually work. Once I got it, I stopped reacting and started explaining things to my kids, and they started getting it too.
When kids understand why an app is built the way it is, you don't have to stand over them. They start making their own good calls, and that sticks with them long after you've left the room.
That's really what this whole app is about. For us it goes awareness first, then understanding, and access last. You don't have to be anti-tech to be pro-childhood.
