Teen slang, explained for parents.
What it means
Talking too much or going on about something at length. "She was yapping for 20 minutes." Not necessarily mean, can be self-deprecating or affectionate. "I'm such a yapper" is common.
How to bring it up with your kid
No concern. If they call you a yapper, take it as a sign they're comfortable enough to tease you. That's actually a good thing.
