What it means
AI that copies a person's voice from a few seconds of audio, like a TikTok or a voicemail. Scammers use it to call a parent or grandparent sounding like the kid, saying they're in trouble and need money. Kids use it too, to make a friend or a teacher "say" something they never said.
How to bring it up with your kid
"If I ever get a call that sounds like you asking for money, what should we say so I know it's really you?" I'd pick a family code word together. It takes one minute, and kids think it's fun.
