To send a direct message to someone you’re interested in romantically, usually on Instagram or Snapchat. It’s often the first move when someone’s flirting, and a lot of the time it comes from a stranger.

How to bring it up with your kid

"I keep hearing about people sliding into DMs. Has that happened to anyone you know? You're not in trouble, I'm just curious how it all works now." Coming at it curious keeps them talking.
