What it means
A label for a guy who’s cool, does his own thing and doesn’t need anybody’s approval, and "Sigma grindset" means an extreme hustle-culture mindset, often used ironically, and it spreads through TikTok and YouTube videos aimed at teen boys, where it can be either a joke or actually admired.
How to bring it up with your kid
"Is that a compliment with your friends? What does it mean to you?" I'd want to know, because some of the sigma videos lead into some pretty extreme stuff about how guys are supposed to act, and I'd want to see what they're watching.
