Sephora Kids

Explained for parents by The Digital Childhood.

What it means

Tweens, some as young as eight or nine, buying expensive adult skincare because they saw it in TikTok and YouTube routines. A lot of those products have acids and retinol that can irritate young skin, and the whole routine is really being sold to them by influencers.

How to bring it up with your kid

"Which skincare videos do you like? What are they telling you to buy?" I'd look at the ingredients together. Young skin needs a gentle wash and sunscreen, and that's about it.
