A stereotype name for an entitled adult, usually a customer or a neighbor, who complains loudly or talks down to service workers. Kevin is the male version. Kids use it to describe adults who feel unreasonable or out of touch.
How to bring it up with your kid
"Your sister called the lady a Karen. What did you actually see her do?" Get to the real behavior the word is pointing at. Sometimes the kid is right, sometimes they are dismissing a normal adult.
