What it means

Tricking an AI chatbot into ignoring its own rules, usually with a prompt kids copy from TikTok or Discord, like telling it to pretend it's a character with no rules. It's also the older word for hacking an iPhone to get around Apple's limits.

How to bring it up with your kid

"Have you seen people jailbreak ChatGPT? What were they trying to get it to say?" What they were trying to get out of it tells you a lot more than the trick does.
