Hidden Apps
Explained for parents by The Digital Childhood.
What it means
Since iOS 18, any app on an iPhone can be hidden and locked with Face ID. It disappears from the home screen and moves into a Hidden folder at the very bottom of the App Library. Anyone who knows the phone's passcode can still see the list in Settings, under Apps, then Hidden Apps.
How to bring it up with your kid
"Did you know you can hide apps on an iPhone now?" Scroll to the bottom of the App Library together and open the Hidden folder. I'd make it part of the deal that nothing on their phone is hidden from you, and that they won't be in trouble for showing you what's there.
