Gauth

Explained for parents by The Digital Childhood.

What it means

A homework app where kids snap a photo of a problem and get the answer, with the steps, in seconds. It's owned by ByteDance, the company that owns TikTok, and it's one of the most downloaded school apps in the country. Photomath and Brainly work the same way.

How to bring it up with your kid

"Do kids in your class use Gauth? What do they use it for?" I'd ask it curious. Checking your answer after you've done the work is fine. Copying the steps before you've even tried is where it stops helping.
