What it means

A second, private Instagram account, typically used to post content a teen doesn't want their main followers (or parents) to see. It’s common once kids are deep into Instagram, and it isn’t always secretive. Sometimes it’s just a casual account for close friends.

How to bring it up with your kid

"Do you know what a finsta is? Some kids have them. I care a lot less about what you post than about you still talking to me." Keep it easy, because you want them coming to you when something happens on it.
