What it means
A thought, opinion, or piece of content that gets stuck in your head and you can't stop thinking about. "That video gave me a brainworm." Can be harmless (a catchy song) or concerning (an ideology or conspiracy that takes hold).
How to bring it up with your kid
"What's stuck in your head lately?" If it's a song, no concern. If it's a worldview picked up from YouTube rabbit holes or online communities, that's worth exploring together.
