Pew: 1 in 10 teens do most of their schoolwork with AI, what it means for your family

4 min read

New Pew Research findings:

· 1 in 10 teens do most or all of their schoolwork with AI
· 6 in 10 teens say AI is used to cheat at least sometimes
· 40% of parents have never had a conversation about AI with their child
· 64% of teens say they use AI chatbots, and only 51% of parents know their teen does

AI use isn't occasional anymore, it's embedded in school life.

The children who'll be best equipped for whatever comes next aren't the ones whose parents banned AI. They're the ones who were taught to think alongside it and to question what it tells them. We may have been behind when it came to social media, so let's be ahead when it comes to AI, and that starts with one conversation.

Calm guidance for raising kids in a digital world.
